The theater has received dance groups and Brazilian musicians, held meetings with artists, intellectuals and politicians.


Its structure consists of:
  • 369.73 m² area;
  • a stage with 132.33 m² and 4.85m height;
  • 150 seats with support for writing;
  • layout stadium;
  • multimedia system 
  • control cabinets and  simultaneous translation;

With a collection of more than six thousand works and a library of about 12,000 titles, Afro Brasil Museum presents the contributions of African descendants to the formation of national identity.

The museum is opened from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm extending until 6pm. On the last Tuesday of each month, the museum is opened until 9pm.


The museum is open all year, except on:

  • December 24th and 25th
  • December 31st
  • January 1st
